The smarter alternative to OpenTable

OpenTable is a diner marketplace with table management — and it charges per cover. Tablario is the complete restaurant software with an AI phone: fixed pricing, every call answered, your own website and table management already in Starter, the QR menu and AI phone as add-ons — and guest data that stays yours.

What you get

One tool for the whole service

Tablario is not just an AI phone. Reservations, your own website, table and floor management, an intelligent QR menu and a team portal — all in one system.

  • Reservations

Bookings from your website, Google, Instagram and WhatsApp — all in one system, with intelligent table assignment that prevents double-bookings.

  • AI phone

Answers every call, around the clock, in the guest’s own language. Books straight into the system instead of into a voicemail.

  • Your own restaurant website

An SEO-optimised site of your own that guests find on Google — with direct booking, no commission and no intermediary.

  • Table & floor management

Floor plan and rooms by drag-and-drop, table combinations, regular-guest profiles with preferences and allergies — all at a glance.

  • Intelligent QR menu

Guests scan, ask the AI about the menu, and order directly — the order routes automatically to kitchen and bar.

  • Role portal for your team

Kitchen sees only food, bar only drinks, front-of-house the full picture. Every role gets exactly the right view.

  • Marketing tools

Birthdays, events and loyalty on autopilot — built on your own guest data, which stays yours.

  • No-show shield

Card on file, not charged. Fewer no-shows, without scaring your guests away.

In your Starter

What the Starter plan includes — and others charge extra for

  • Own website included

In the Starter plan already — many providers have none or charge extra for it.

  • Table management included

Floor plan, rooms and regular-guest profiles from day one, at no extra cost.

  • No commission per guest

A fixed monthly price instead of cover fees — whether 50 or 5,000 bookings.

  • Cancel monthly

No 12-month lock-in, no surcharge for flexibility.

A fair comparison

Where OpenTable is (still) stronger

An honest comparison belongs here. These are the points where OpenTable comes out ahead — you should know them upfront.

  • A large diner network

OpenTable lists over 60,000 restaurants and runs its own diner app with a loyalty programme. If walk-in discovery through that app matters to you, it delivers real new-guest reach. Tablario has its own website with direct booking, but not (yet) a network of that size.

  • Very deep table management

OpenTable has refined its table and guest management for over 25 years. For large venues with event and group business, that feature depth is more mature than a younger product can match.

  • POS and ecosystem integrations

OpenTable connects natively to point-of-sale systems such as Toast, Square and Lightspeed. At Tablario, POS integration is in development and planned for Q4 2026.

In short: OpenTable is a diner marketplace with table management; Tablario is the complete restaurant software with an AI phone. If your biggest pain is missed calls and commissions, what Tablario includes out of the box is what counts — and the two run side by side without conflict.

Frequently asked questions

Is Tablario really cheaper than OpenTable?
It depends on the model. OpenTable combines a monthly subscription with a cover fee per network guest — so the bill grows with every booking (as of May 2026, opentable.com). Tablario Starter, by contrast, costs a fixed price (€69/mo annual or €79/mo) with no per-guest commission — regardless of booking volume. The optional AI phone costs from €39/mo.
Will I lose reach if I leave OpenTable?
OpenTable does bring genuine new-guest discovery through its diner app — Tablario, with its (still smaller) network, cannot replace that one-to-one. But you do not have to choose: you can keep your OpenTable listing for marketplace reach and run Tablario alongside it as a commission-free phone, website and booking base. That way you only pay cover fees where new guests actually come from.
Is Tablario just an AI phone?
No. Starter includes reservations, your own SEO website with direct booking and table & floor management. The AI phone, an intelligent QR menu, the role portal for your team, marketing tools and no-show protection are available as add-ons. A POS integration is planned for Q4 2026.
How long does migration from OpenTable take?
Up to 24 hours. We import regular guests, booking history and table layout from OpenTable and set up phone and AI for you. A setup call is included, and your operation keeps running normally during migration.
Who owns my guest data with Tablario?
You do. Tablario is not a marketplace — there is no intermediary between you and your guests. Names, phone numbers and booking history sit on GDPR-compliant servers in Frankfurt and are never shared with competitors or third parties.

¹ OpenTable publishes no fixed euro price for Europe (terms on request; opentable.de/.it/.fr/.nl, as of May 2026). US list price for reference: Core $299/mo + $1 network cover. Model: subscription + commission per guest.
